Uchenna Ibeka is the founder of AsymmetrIQ Labs, a quantitative research laboratory working at the intersection of machine learning and financial markets. He leads the lab's research direction and its work on T.I.T.A.N., an autonomous decision-making system currently in development. The research question underneath it is a general one: can a system learn to act sensibly in an environment that is adversarial, non-stationary, and unforgiving of overconfidence?

Before founding AsymmetrIQ Labs, Uchenna worked in payroll and people operations within the digital asset industry. The work sat where regulation meets operational reality - multi-jurisdiction payroll, equity administration, and the controls that keep both auditable under scrutiny. It left him with a conviction that carries directly into his research: a system nobody can inspect, constrain, or explain is not a finished system, no matter how well it behaves on a good day.

He holds an M.A. in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Rutgers University. That training was, at bottom, institutional analysis - studying how rules, incentives, and enforcement produce outcomes in complex systems full of participants pursuing their own interests, and why formal authority so often diverges from effective authority. Markets pose the same problem in different dress, and the framing shows up in how AsymmetrIQ Labs builds.

It is most visible in the lab's governance-layer architecture. The design separates the components that generate decisions from an independent layer that constrains them, and gives that layer real authority rather than an advisory role. Constraints that can be overridden by a confident model are not constraints. The approach reflects a preference for systems that stay legible and bounded over systems that are merely clever.

Uchenna also contributes to Automaton, the open-source autonomous-agent project from Conway Research, where his merged work has centred on the agent discovery layer: the on-chain registry lookups that let independent agents find one another. He writes occasionally on autonomous systems, governance, and the discipline of building under uncertainty.
